Warm Water by the Campfire
Take a five gallon spackle bucket or metal ash can of similar size, install a spigot, and at the opposite side of the spigot, install a copper coil with a bottom and top connection to the bucket. Place the coil in the campfire with the bucket above the fire, such as on the fire surround. In a few minutes you will have hot running water. Make sure you wear insulated rubber dish gloves because the water can be very hot. Then put a standard dish tub underneath the spigot to act as the wash basin for your dirty dishes. Sure beats washing bacon grease with cold water and is great on those cold mornings and evenings to wash you hands and face in warm water. Bring your dish soap and sponge to help with the washing.
