Park: Lake Chippewa Campground
Lake Chippewa Campground is located on the shores of the lake of the same name, southeast of Hayward, in Wisconsin's great north woods. It's definitely off the beaten path, not near any major highway, and that's what makes it so appealing. The sites range from open and grassy in certain areas, to secluded and wooded in others. The lodge/office is built of real logs, and comes complete its own ice cream and snack shop. The staff is professional, friendly, and always ready to help with anything you may need. Of course if you're camping on the shores of one of Wisconsin's awesome inland lakes, you can be guaranteed to experience some great fishing, and Lake Chippewa is no exception. After reeling in your catch, you can clean and filet your fish at the lakeside cleaning station, and the staff will be more than happy to store your fish in the lodge freezer until you're ready to hit the road home. Lake Chippewa is also a great place to take the family. While there is no pool, the swimming on the lake's sandy beach is outstanding. If swimming isn't your thing, you can rent one of the fabulous water bikes and take a ride around the lake. There's no shortage of things to do on land as well. Two person golf carts and surrey bikes that fit anywhere from two to eight riders make your stay at Lake Chippewa fun to experience and a joy to remember as your tour the campground. If you're looking for an authentic north woods campground experience, Lake Chippewa Campground near Hayward, WI is one you MUST check out.
