Park: Inks Lake State Park
Absolutely the best state park in Texas. The scenery, the shelters, the fishing, the hiking, the biking, and the way the fingers of the lake intertwine in through the park make it a great place for tent camping with water access everywhere. Highly recommended.

Park: Tyler State Park
Tyler State Park is one that is close and most beautifulState Parks around! They have interpretive programs, hiking areas, paddle boats and hills with the tallest Loblolly pines! If you mountain bike, or just like to kick back and float a bobber, this place is for you!

Adventure in Camping at Goliad SP
6/22 – 6/25
Exciting news for children ages 8-12! We'll have Summer Camp with activities during the week including games, crafts and fun! Participants and parents will be provided the opportunity to put their skills to test with overnight camping at the park. Free dinner and breakfast provided for the families that camp.

Stories in the Stars at Guadaluupe SP
8/8 9 – 10:30PM
The starry sky has long been a storybook for cultures. Join us for an evening star stories, including our special audience participation story "The Peril of Andromeda" or "What's a Daughter to do?"

Chihuahuan Desert Fiesta at Franklin Mountains SP
9/20 9AM – 3PM
Learn about the plants and animals of the Northern Chihuahuan Desert. Educators will be on hand to offer free tours and demonstrations designed to introduce the curious to the wonders of our fascinating desert. Come and see up close spiders, snakes, and other desert creatures.
