Otter Creek State Park is a quiet respite in central Utah. Otter Creek Reservoir in central Utah offers some of the state’s finest year-round trout fishing. The park is also a favorite for boating, camping, waterskiing, and bird watching. Otter Creek State Park is 60 miles south of Richfield via Highways 89 and 62.
The Setting
Located in scenic central Utah, Otter Creek State Park is a true getaway from the daily hustle and bustle. Though less developed than some state parks, Otter Creek offers a quiet and serene atmosphere making it a wonderful family destination.
The Facility
Otter Creek State Park offers a 24-unit campground, six tent campsites, and 30 overflow campsites. Beachfront and pull-through sites include a picnic table, redwood privacy windscreen, barbeque grill, and shade tree. No hookups are available. Tent sites have a picnic table, dirt tent pad, fire ring, and some shade. Overflow camping areas are located at the west and east ends of the park. The park also features modern restrooms and showers, boat launch ramp, courtesy loading docks, and sanitary disposal station.
Camping Tips
Besides watersports, camping, and fishing at Otter Creek, a host of other activities are available nearby. They include wildlife viewing, mountain biking, and off-highway and horseback riding. Three ATV trails originate in the park and access the popular Paiute ATV Trail. ATV rentals and tours, complete with guides and meals, are available within 30 miles.
Park Features
Don’t forget your fishing pole! Otter Creek Reservoir has been rated one of Utah’s best rainbow trout fisheries. Other fish include cutthroat and brown trout. The lake record is a 16-pound, seven-ounce brown trout.
