Crystal-clear spring on the historic Suwannee River.
The Setting
Located on the Suwannee River, this inviting source of cool, clear water has attracted people for thousands of years. Lafayette Blue Springs produces up to 168 million gallons of water daily, making it one of Florida's 33 first magnitude springs. White-tailed deer, gray squirrels, red-shouldered hawks, pileated woodpeckers and barred owls are some of the animals seen in the park.
The park is part of the Suwannee River Wilderness Trail that stretches 170-miles from White Springs to the Gulf of Mexico. Along the famed spring-cooled river, visitors can enjoy paddling, hiking, biking and horseback riding. Take an opportunity to explore the Suwannee’s wilderness, its parks, its towns and its historic sites. Sleep under the stars, at a river camp, in a cabin, at a local motel or bed and breakfast.
The Facility
Five cabins, which sleep 6, include a dishwasher, fireplace and large screened porch. These cabins have received the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Green Lodging designation. The cabins have adopted cost-saving “green” practices that reduce waste and conserve natural resources.
Walk-in tent camping is available for a fee.
