Blue Licks offers RV and Tent Camping amidst the rolling hills of Kentucky.
The Setting
Rich in history and beauty, Blue Licks is the site of the last battle of the Revolutionary War. Campers can learn more about the battle, Pioneer and Native American Life, the health spa with “healing waters”, prehistoric animals, fossils, and the rich geology of the area by visiting the park’s own Pioneer Museum. In addition, the park is home to a federally endangered plant species found only two places in the entire world! Walk or hike one of the many park trails that surrounds Kentucky State Nature Preserve at Blue Licks.
The Facility
The campground features 51 sites that have electric and water hook-ups and 6+ tent or primitive sites. The campground also contains a centrally located service building with restrooms, showers, coin-operated washers & dryers, and sewer hook-ups. Also located at Blue Licks is a Jr. Olympic size community swimming pool, 18-hole miniature golf course, Lodge Gift Shop featuring Kentucky Crafted and Kentucky Proud items, Hidden Waters Restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily, Pioneer Museum, Modern Lodge Rooms and Cottages available for rental, Spacious indoor meeting facilities, and so much more!
Camping Tips
We do sell firewood at a very reasonable price and ask that you not transport firewood into the park because of the Emerald Ash Borer. We also sell ice and have soda vending machines in the campground while our lodge gift shop sells items such as sunscreen, lotion, sunglasses, cameras, and a variety of other items and souvenirs.
Park Features
Along the many acres of Kentucky State Nature Preserve, Wildlife Enhancement Areas, and Park Trails that surround the park you will see an incredible number of bird species. In fact, many park visitors excitedly report sightings of an albino red tail hawk that lives nearby. There is also an abundance of deer, squirrels, rabbits, chipmunks, raccoons, and other wildlife living in the woods surrounding the park. Many guests also enjoy canoeing or kayaking along the Licking River. The park provides some guided canoe opportunities throughout the year, but you will need to call ahead for a schedule.
